BOUTVERSE PLAYER GUIDE
Your first steps.
This guide describes the setup beta as it works today. You can return to it from setup, review or any dashboard page.
What works today?
Create and edit your promotion setup, plan main and prospect events, customize a shared belt, edit fighter names and attributes, save or restore setup backups, and explore an opening dashboard. The roster editor currently creates 12 main-roster fighters per active class; the annual planning roster-size input is a separate planning quantity. Prospect places are planned capacity, not yet generated fighter records.
Not playable yet: live matchmaking, title-bout selection, fight results, contract signings, event commits, year-end awards and shared multiplayer. No results or conversations are generated by browsing the dashboard.
1. Create your promotion
- Choose a promotion name and opening year. Name your major and standard event types; select numbers or Roman numerals and where numbering starts.
- Choose your shared championship design. Save it for every weight class.
- Create your fighters: use the class selector directly above the roster, edit names and choose age, popularity, longevity and personality. Check whether an attribute applies to all classes or only the selected class.
- Set the main calendar with planned fighters per class, average yearly fights and bouts per card. Read any capacity advice. Select when each month’s major event occurs.
- Turn prospects on or off. If enabled, plan at least 22 places per class, Wednesday cards, spacing and contract rules. Prospect bouts have their own total.
- Save your complete draft. Select Start Universe to review the setup, then confirm to open your dashboard.
At this beta stage, opening the dashboard does not lock your belt or commit an event.
2. Save and return safely
Normal account flow: sign in with your email, open your saved promotion from your welcome page, and use Save to my account. Your next sign-in will load that account’s save, including saved starting lineups. Downloaded files are optional backups. A newer save in another tab must be reloaded before it can be updated.
Account storage is implemented but unavailable until the external service is connected. The following browser-save controls remain available for the local preview.
Save complete draft keeps the full setup in this browser on this device. It is not cloud storage or an account. Use the same browser and website address when returning; clearing site data or using private browsing can remove saves.
Download complete draft backup creates a portable JSON file. JSON is simply the save-file format—you do not need to edit it. Keep the file somewhere you can find it.
Restore: open Save / Restore in setup and choose Restore complete draft for the browser save, or select your downloaded backup file. Check the restored setup, then save it. Undo last restore can recover the setup that was on screen before that restore during the same visit.
Fighter-only saves are useful checkpoints, but do not replace a complete draft backup. Dashboard Download setup backup exports the setup used to open that dashboard. If you change setup afterward, save and confirm it again to refresh the opening dashboard.
These saves currently contain setup, not playable career history. Save explicitly before refreshing or closing the page.
Go to Save / Restore →3. Find your way around
Overview: promotion summary and next event. Current event: opening availability and remaining booking requirements. Fighters: search, filter by class and inspect saved attributes. Rankings & titles: your shared belt and starting-lineup editor. Select a class, arrange fighters, choose a champion or vacancy, then save that class. Unsaved changes are discarded on class or page changes. Dashboard backups include saved rankings.
Event calendar: dated main and prospect cards; future cards are read-only. Prospects & contracts: your planned pathway. Recovery & retirement: saved career rules. Interviews & press: your media team and when interviews will occur. Awards & archives: future permanent history. Arena gallery: fictional promotional artwork, not your fighters’ recorded results.
How event play will work
Only the current event will be editable. Build eligible matchups, choose player or CPU control for each bout, record every result, and review awards and any contract decisions. Move to Next Event will be the sole action that commits the whole event. Completed events will be permanent; undo will apply only to drafts. This flow is planned and is not enabled in the beta yet.
Full interviews and promoter conversations will appear after committed major events, using your custom event-type name and fighter personalities. No sample conversations are revealed here.
Accounts and password help
Once the account service is connected, create an account with your email and a password, confirm your email, then sign in. You will reach a welcome page with Create a promotion, Continue saved dashboard (when available in this browser), and Restore a setup backup.
Forgot your password? Request a recovery email from the account page. Enter the recovery code or follow the email link, then choose and confirm a new password. You can also ask the promotion site owner to send recovery instructions to your registered email. The owner cannot view your password.
The email-account and cloud-save integration is built, but the authentication service, database and owner permissions still need to be connected and tested live.
Open account & password help →Common questions
Can championships start vacant?
Yes, the source workbook has a vacant-title path that selects two eligible contenders. The web version still needs that title-selection path and starting rankings connected before a title bout can be booked.
Can two people share one universe?
We’re working on the capability for multiple people to join the same universe. It is not available in this beta. For now, each promotion is controlled by one player; sharing a backup creates a separate copy.
Are there accounts or access restrictions?
Email/password sign-in and email recovery have a dedicated account page. The account service is not connected in this local preview yet, so registration and recovery emails are unavailable. Invitation-only access is not implemented.
Why is Build Current Card disabled?
Save your opening rankings and champions first. Actual prospect records, title selection and the complete workbook matchmaking rules still need to be connected. An availability count alone does not guarantee valid matchups.
